Kathryn Christian is a senior at LASA High School. She's planning on majoring in environmental science in college with a focus on aquatic ecosystems and sustainability. She first became interested in these subjects when studying and working along the NGO Ocean Alive in Portugal. Kathryn will be helping with research projects around Wild Basin such as the wildlife cameras and invasive species with other interns. Her favorite thing about the internship is hiking the preserve and keying out uncommon plants.
Kathryn hopes to one day work in Southeast Asia, exploring the Coral Triangle located between Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and Thailand. She loves to scuba dive, especially when sharks are involved. In her free time she likes to swim, cook, and run the trail around Town Lake. She's excited to be a part of Wild Basin this summer.
