Olivia is a senior at St. Edward's University who will be receiving her degree in Environmental Science and Policy in May of 2018. She has always been an outdoor girl who enjoys hiking, climbing, gardening, and soaking up the sun. Olivia has a burning desire to connect people to their natural world. To do this she aspires to work in sustainability, renewable energy, and possibly agriculture. Luckily, she knows the opportunities are endless for a background in environmental science. Olivia is an action oriented person and is actively pursuing the path of Peace Corps. for post graduation. She believes there's no better way to put ones passion to work than helping those who need it the most. She's ready to be in the field and tackle today's most pressing environmental challenges while creating lasting memories, relations, and
solutions.
Right now, Olivia is currently working with Aaron Haynes on a national urban wildlife monitoring network created by the Lincoln Zoo and partnered with Wild Basin to observe and improve wildlife in urban cities. So far, her time at Wild Basin has included making bait traps and preparing the cameras that will be used to monitor wildlife around the city. Throughout this project she hopes to familiarize herself with the species that are caught on tape and gain a deeper understanding about the impacts of urban sprawl and its effects on wildlife. She also hopes to develop solutions to urban encroachment and contribute to the national data base.
