Wild Basin is excited to have on board Joy Hernandez as Wild Basin's Administrative Coordinator. Joy has a B.A in Zoology and over 10 years experience in the Natural Sciences spanning natural resources, ecological research, and biotechnology. During this time, she managed daily operations and coordinated between researchers and staff at the UT fire ant laboratory, played an instrumental role in the complex transfer of an ELISA allergy testing laboratory from Austin to New York, and acted as a liaison between the regulated public and TCEQ. She is also a certified Master Naturalist with experience in land stewardship, wildlife surveys, and public outreach. She also recently spearheaded a Weekend Ranger Program here at Wild Basin as a volunteer.
