We are excited to announce Jamie McCormick as our Fall 2018, Artist in Residence! Jamie is an Austin local experienced in acrylic, gouache, and collages; she is also delving into paint and mixed media art. Her latest work involves building unique canvas through resist-dyeing and subsequently painting her interpretation of the dye's movement. Jamie has participated in both solo and group exhibitions in Austin and Driftwood, Texas. She also has several private collections throughout Texas, Kansas, and California. You may have seen Jamie's art displayed at some Austin shows and festivals such as Violet Crown Arts Festival, West Austin Studio Tour, A Fair of the Art, and Blue Genie Art Bazaar. While in residence, Jamie plans to create art that inspires exploration of Wild Basin and unravels our community's connection to the land.
