St. Edward's University students Pam, Amanda, and Stacia, are wondering how deer populations within Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve affect vegetation. This group of graduate students are also interested in the stress levels of deer in relation to their proximity to manmade stressors such as highways, buildings, and the presence of people. Their research project began with a simple question, “I wonder if deer density within Wild Basin is connected to specific vegetation populations?” There are six different cameras on site being utilized to monitor deer population and to help this group of students answer their question. To keep up with Pam, Amanda, and Stacia’s results we will be posting more videos and photos of their research process!
